Karachi Gul Plaza Fire Death Toll Rises to 67

The death toll from the devastating fire at Karachi’s Gul Plaza rose to 67 on Thursday as rescue teams continued search operations amid the wreckage of the collapsed building. Officials confirmed that post-mortems of all recovered bodies had been conducted, though only a few victims have been identified so far. Authorities said the blaze caused parts of the multi-storey shopping plaza to collapse, with dozens of bodies found from a single shop on the mezzanine floor. Rescue 1122 teams are using thermal imaging cameras and specialised equipment to locate remaining victims, but extreme heat levels have made operations difficult, while cooling efforts at the site have continued for several days.
