The federal government has raised petrol prices by Rs. 4.80 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs. 258.47 per litre, effective from June 15, 2025. The hike, announced by the Ministry of Finance, follows the government’s routine price review influenced by rising global oil prices and currency fluctuations. As Pakistan imports most of its fuel, changes in international markets directly impact local rates. The adjustment was made under the current pricing mechanism, which factors in global oil trends, local taxes, and the rupee’s value.
