US Arrests Pakistani-Canadian for Export Law Violation, Allegedly Supplying Military Tech

US authorities have detained a Pakistani-Canadian citizen, Mohammad Jawaid Aziz, for allegedly violating export control laws by supplying sensitive technology to organizations linked to Pakistan’s military and arms programs.

According to the indictment, the 67-year-old, also known as Jawaid Aziz Siddiqui or Jay Siddiqui, was arrested upon arrival in the US from Canada but was not transferred to the District of Minnesota.

Authorities allege that between 2003 and 2019, Siddiqui operated an illegal procurement network through his Canadian firm, Diversified Technology Services, supplying US-origin products to restricted Pakistani organizations involved in nuclear, missile, and UAV programs. The investigation claims he and his associates concealed the true end users and routed shipments through third countries to evade detection.
