The highly anticipated movie “Jawan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, has been generating immense excitement within the Indian film industry. According to reports, the film has achieved a remarkable ₹45 crore in global advance bookings, becoming the second Bollywood film to surpass one million advance ticket sales.
Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film, “Pathaan,” was the pioneer in achieving this milestone, with 1.08 million ticket sales on its opening day. Impressively, “Jawan” has already crossed the one million ticket sales mark, with more than 20 hours to spare before its first screening. It appears to be on track to potentially establish a new record for the highest opening-day pre-sales in Bollywood history.
Industry analyst Girish Johar forecasts that “Jawan” could rake in approximately ₹100 crore on its global opening day, with ₹40 crore stemming from overseas markets and ₹60 crore from the domestic market. He even suggests that it might surpass “Pathaan’s” opening figures and could potentially reach up to ₹60 crore in India across all languages. Johar envisions the film’s global total to reach ₹300 crore by the end of the weekend.
On a more conservative note, Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, the Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd, projects an all-India box office collection of ₹65 crore on the film’s opening day. Based on ticket bookings at PVR INOX, he anticipates weekend collections to reach around ₹230 crore.
