Former Pakistani fast bowler Umar Gul has raised concerns regarding Shadab Khan’s injury in the ICC World Cup 2023 match against South Africa in Chennai.
In a closely-contested game on Friday, South Africa secured a thrilling one-wicket victory over the Pakistani team.
During the second innings of the match, a situation unfolded in which Pakistan’s all-rounder, Shadab Khan, sustained a head injury while fielding a ground ball. He momentarily left the field for a medical assessment but later returned. However, he was ultimately substituted by Usama Mir due to a concussion.
Umar Gul, while speaking on a local sports channel, has hinted that Shadab Khan might have protected himself and used the injury as a pretext.
