Ramiz Raja criticizes PCB, declaring Pakistan cricket in crisis after World Cup elimination

Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has voiced strong criticism against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), asserting that the country’s cricket is in a state of collapse. The national team, known as the Green Shirts, faced elimination from the World Cup 2023 due to challenges in restricting England and meeting the required net run rate for a spot in the semi-finals.

In their crucial last-round match, Pakistan suffered a significant setback with a 93-run defeat against England, falling short in the chase of a 338-run target and being bowled out at 244 runs. Ramiz Raja, expressing his concerns on his YouTube channel, particularly highlighted the bowlers’ struggle to take wickets early on and their expensive runs conceded.

Raja questioned the PCB’s strategy, suggesting that the board tends to convene with former cricketers for discussions when the team faces difficulties. He further scrutinized the board’s decisions, such as changing the captain and coaching staff, emphasizing the necessity for more substantial and impactful measures to address the challenges faced by Pakistani cricket.
