The Punjab government has banned the use of mobile phones by teachers and students in all schools, both public and private. District education officers have been instructed to enforce this rule strictly.
Teachers are also required to dress formally during school hours, wearing a coat, proper shoes, and a watch. This decision follows complaints about teachers wasting time on their phones and both teachers and students recording and sharing videos on social media.
To ensure compliance, teachers must hand over their phones to the school administration during school hours. Anyone violating the rule may have their phone confiscated and face disciplinary action.
The government has also issued guidelines for students, including wearing navy blue sweaters, displaying school badges, and carrying their ID cards.
