Punjab Govt Enforces Section 144 in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Mianwali Before PTI Protests

The Punjab government imposed Section 144 in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Mianwali on Tuesday, banning public gatherings as PTI planned a rally. PTI has held protests nationwide against the party founder’s imprisonment, the ECP’s delay in acting on a Supreme Court verdict, and to “save the constitution.” These rallies often lead to clashes with authorities due to strict government guidelines. Imran Khan, PTI’s jailed founder, called for more protests, including one in Islamabad, where gatherings are banned.
