Petrol price Increases to Rs1200 per litre in Kurram due to road blockages

Petrol prices in Kurram, KP, have skyrocketed to Rs1200 per litre due to road closures caused by ongoing security issues since November 2024. The blocked land routes have severely restricted vehicle movement, leading to shortages of fuel and essential goods. Locals report that petrol pump owners are charging high prices, limiting buyers to just 5 to 10 litres at a time. Diesel is entirely unavailable, and oil tankers have stopped supplying fuel to the region due to the worsening security situation.
