Pakistan seeks ADB support for economic reforms

Pakistan has sought enhanced collaboration and policy-based lending support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under a new 10-year partnership, focusing on sectors including climate, infrastructure, and resource mobilisation. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb shared Pakistan’s priorities with ADB President Masato Kanda during his first visit to Islamabad, highlighting areas such as energy transition, climate resilience, transport, human capital development, and innovative financing through green bonds and debt-for-nature swaps.
