No Plan to Raise Voting Age to 25, Says Ahsan Iqbal

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday dismissed reports about increasing the voting age in Pakistan from 18 to 25, calling them baseless and confirming that no such legislation is under consideration. He clarified that the government has no intention of changing the current voting age and expressed full confidence in the country’s youth. The statement comes amid growing political debate and speculation on social and traditional media, with several political leaders opposing any move to alter voting rights and stressing the importance of youth participation in Pakistan’s democratic process.
