Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has affirmed that Pakistan will not compromise on hosting the Asia Cup 2023, despite the ongoing controversy with India. The event is scheduled to take place in Pakistan this year, but India has refused to visit the country, casting doubt on the tournament’s future. The PCB chairman has assured reporters that Pakistan will not abandon hosting the event due to the controversy. He stated that if dialogue with India fails to resolve the issue, the PCB will withdraw from the competition. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has repeatedly called for a neutral location to be chosen for the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup, as they have no intention of sending a team to Pakistan due to the strained relations between the two neighboring countries.
