Karachi University urges students to avoid revealing clothes and dress modestly

The University of Karachi has issued a notification requiring students to dress modestly and respectfully on campus, ensuring their attire is neither offensive nor distracting. Dr. Nosheen Raza, the university’s student advisor, announced the guidelines on January 14, 2025, emphasizing the need for students to maintain an appearance suitable for an academic setting. The dress code prohibits revealing or see-through clothing, shorts, sleeveless or tight-fitting garments, and clothing with offensive language. Additionally, casual slippers and flip-flops are banned. Dr. Raza highlighted that the university, which has 45,000 students, regularly enforces discipline-related notifications.
