Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has ordered a citywide crackdown on drug addicts occupying roads, footpaths, and public spaces after growing complaints of damage to infrastructure. The move comes in response to reports of theft and vandalism affecting flyovers, bridges, and public buildings. According to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), addicts have been harming public property for minimal gains, endangering the city’s safety and appearance. The mayor directed that such individuals be relocated to the city warden headquarters and later shifted to rehabilitation centers for proper care.
