Government Offers Rs. 10 Per Unit Electricity Subsidy for Industrial and Agricultural Sectors

The Government of Pakistan is set to introduce a major relief package aimed at cutting electricity prices for industrial and agricultural sectors by over Rs. 10 per unit. The three-year plan, effective from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2028, seeks to lower production costs, boost exports, and enhance competitiveness in global markets. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to announce the initiative soon. Officials say the move will ease financial pressure on businesses and farmers, promote growth, and attract new investments by reducing energy expenses and encouraging sustainable development.
