Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered the demolition and reconstruction of Gul Plaza following the deadly fire, while directing authorities to speed up compensation and relief efforts for affected families and traders. During a meeting at the CM House, he instructed the Sindh Building Control Authority to present a reconstruction plan and begin work after demolishing the damaged structure. The Sindh government has allocated Rs850 million for victims’ families, with Rs10 million per family, and most payments have already been delivered. An additional Rs600 million has been set aside for affected traders, with Rs500,000 per shop owner, though verification issues and ownership disputes have caused delays. Officials were directed to accelerate the process, improve coordination with National Database and Registration Authority, and ensure transparent and timely distribution of compensation.
