President-elect Donald Trump arrived in the Washington area on Saturday evening to celebrate his return to power ahead of his inauguration, which has been impacted by record cold temperatures. Trump traveled aboard an Air Force plane sent by outgoing President Joe Biden to Palm Beach, Florida, where he had been preparing for his transition after defeating Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the November 5 election. His wife, Melania, daughter Ivanka, and son-in-law Jared Kushner joined him on the flight.
Upon arriving at Dulles Airport in Virginia, Trump made his way to his golf club in Sterling, located on the outskirts of Washington. The event will feature a fireworks display and live performances, including Elvis impersonator Leo Days and tenor Christopher Macchio, both of whom have previously performed at Trump’s political events. Around 500 guests are expected to attend.
