Primary student loses eye due to teacher’s ‘torture’ in Nawabshah

A tragic incident occurred at a government school in Mehran Colony, Nawabshah, where a first-grade student named Zakir lost his right eye after allegedly being violently beaten by his teacher.

Zakir shared with the media that he was playing with a classmate when his teacher, Abid Zardari, forced him to stand and brutally hit him with kicks and punches. The attack caused severe damage to Zakir’s right eye.

Zakir’s uncle, Naushad, took the issue to the Nawabshah Press Club, demanding justice and protesting against the teacher. He voiced concerns about the rising violence in government schools and criticized the education department for its lack of action, questioning the safety of students.

Naushad urged for immediate accountability, saying, “The growing cases of violence in schools and the education department’s silence raise serious concerns.”

This incident highlights the urgent need for stricter enforcement of laws against corporal punishment and better monitoring to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
