Shehbaz Sharif has ordered a strict inquiry by the Federal Investigation Agency into suspected fuel hoarding by oil marketing companies.
The move follows panic buying and long queues at petrol pumps amid fears of shortages linked to the Iran regional situation.
The investigation will examine certain oil companies and officials from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority over allegations of creating artificial shortages to raise prices.
