An Islamabad court has approved the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency’s request to block 27 YouTube channels, including those run by prominent journalists, for spreading false and provocative content against state institutions. The court emphasized the need to regulate digital platforms to protect national security and public order. Channels linked to journalists and PTI affiliates were accused of sharing disinformation and content inciting hatred toward the military and judiciary. The decision followed an NCCIA investigation that found sufficient evidence of violations under the Pakistan Penal Code and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act.
